Shawn Hornbeck Case

Shawn Hornbeck was 11 years old when he was kidnapped about 50 miles south of St. Louis in October 2002. An AMBER Alert was issued, but Hornbeck remained missing for over four years after his abduction. Hornbeck’s family created the Shawn Hornbeck Foundation in his memory and to support finding missing children.

In January 2007, Hornbeck was found at the home of Michael Devlin, along with another boy who had been abducted just one week earlier. Hornbeck says he was able to stay alive for four years by pleading for his life and posing as Devlin’s son. He also protected the second abductee from harm in the short time he was held captive.
